TED Countdown: The Future Of Food

Triple Helix attended and produced a session with TED Countdown at their event on The Future of Food addressing the question, "Can we nourish 10 billion people while restoring the Earth?" This two-day gathering underscored the critical importance of collaboration as we reshape our food systems to ensure a sustainable future.

We were thrilled to contribute by hosting a Breakthrough Session titled “Harnessing AgTech for Biodiversity Conservation,” presented by our Founder, Sarah Garland, PhD, and Triple Helix Institute Advisory Team member, Matthew Hayek, PhD. This session emphasized the vital role of #AgTech in producing enough food for a growing population while preserving biodiversity.

Attendees of the conference embarked on group excursions to pioneering local New York City initiatives at the forefront of food and agriculture production. Triple Helix helped organize a visit to C16 Biosciences, a company using precision fermentation to create an alternative to palm oil, a product currently responsible for 80% of land use conversion in Southeast Asia.
